NLBRA Royalty Information

The NLBRA Royalty competition is one of the only National competitions with three age groups for contestants ages 5-19. In order to compete for the National title contestants must also qualify for the National Finals in one of the rodeo events. The competition for the 2020 Royalty was held in Guthrie, OK the first week of July, 2019. Contestants will compete in speech and modeling, interview, test and horsemanship.

The NLBRA royalty spends their year of reign traveling to local events in their region and to several National events as ambassadors of not only the NLBRA but youth rodeo. Some of the events might include but not limited to:

  • ProRodeo Hall of Fame Inductions, Colorado Springs, CO
  • Western and English Sales Market, Denver, CO
  • RFD-TV, The American, Ft. Worth, TX
  • Timed Event Championships and Junior Ironman, Guthrie, OK

2020 Royalty Contesants

Little Wrangler- Liberty Cunningham

Louisburg, Kansas, brings us Liberty Cunningham, a second generation NLBRA competitor. Liberty is the eight year old daughter of Kara and Todd Cunningham. She has been a NLBRA member for 3 years competing in barrels, Poles, flags, & goat tail untying and has qualified for the National Little Britches Finals Rodeo all 3 years. She is involved in competitive dance with the Jody Phillips Dance Company, Jump Rope 4 Heart, and volunteers for childhood cancer organizations in honor of her brother who is a cancer survivor. Liberty is proud to say that she reads in the top 96% nationwide. She enjoys truck riding, jumping on the trampoline, riding her bike, playing with her pets, traveling, and her favorite food

Little Wrangler- Bella Kate Buckley

Sulphur, Louisiana, brings us Bella Kate the seven year old daughter of Trudy and Joey Buckley. She has been a NLBRA member for the past 3 years competing in barrels, poles, goat ribbon pulling and flag racing and qualified for the finals this year in barrels and poles. She attends school at Life Christian Academy and has just completed the 2nd grade. She participated in the spring musical at school as a member of the choir. Her Sunday school class helps supply food for the local backpack blessings program which supplies food for needy children in the area. Her family also creates blessing backpacks for the homeless in the Houston, TX area. She won her first saddle this year for “All Around” in the local Silver Spurs riding club and she is super proud to report she made all A’s in school this year. Besides being involved in rodeos, she plays the violin and takes ballet, tap, and jazz lessons. Little Wrangler Contestant Bella Kate Buckley

Little Wrangler- Harper LeeAnn Nuckles

Jonesboro, Arkansas, brings us Harper LeeAnn Nuckles the eight year old daughter of Heather Campbell and Brad Nuckles. She has been a member of NLBRA member for the past 3 years competing in barrels, poles, flags and goat untying. This year she qualified for finals in barrels, flags and poles. She and her family are involved in their community through their family owned plumbing company and she enjoys volunteering as a helper at her school as often as she can. She maintains good grades in school and rodeos with her family almost every weekend. Harper loves to inspire little kids and watch them learn on their horses. Her hobbies are competing in rodeos, dancing, singing, and playing with dolls. Her favorite food is Mexican Little Wrangler Contestant - Harper LeeAnn Nuckles

Junior Princess- Anna Leigh Pilkington

Anna Leigh Pilkington is the thirteen year old daughter of Matt and Kyla Pilkington from Somerville, Alabama. Anna Leigh has competed in all events for Little Wrangler and Junior Divisions in the NLBRA across nine states and seven NLBRA franchises — Anna Leigh has qualified and competed in the National Little Britches Finals Rodeo Finals every year since becoming a NLBRA member. Anna Leigh is a member of the Hartselle Junior High Advanced Women’s Choir, TAG, and has volunteered with the Morgan County Special Needs Rodeo for the past 7 years. One of Anna Leigh’s greatest accomplishments is remaining on the A Honor Roll every year of school, and she is proud to have earned the 2017 Alabama Karate Circuit State Championship. When Anna Leigh is not rodeoing, she enjoys running cross country, track & field, and martial arts — Tang Soo Do — and her favorite color is turquoise. Junior Princess- Kalli Reed

Kalli Reed, 13 year old daughter of Damon & Tara Reed from Rosston Tx. Kalli first joined NLBRA when she was 9 years old but it wasn’t until 2017 that she got serious and was able to get qualified for the NLBRA Finals in 4 events including barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, & trail course. Her favorite thing about the rodeos is the friendships she has made. Kalli is a member of the First Rosston Church Youth Group and is involved in the local 4- H Club where over the years has served as President & Vice President. She has competed in the academic UIL for 6 years and won medals in the following events: spelling, number sense, art smart, modem oratory, and maps, graphs & charts. To no surprise, Kalli is an A Honor Roll student. When she is not rodeoing or horsing around, she also enjoys spending time with her family hunting, fishing, swimming, and simply enjoying the outdoors. NLBRA Princess candidate Kalli Reed

Junior Princess- Victoria Burren

Victoria Burren from Franklin, Tx is the 9 year old daughter of Lisa Brantner and Ryan Burren. This is Victoria’s first year to be a National Little Britches Rodeo member and is currently a LIttle Wrangler competing in Barrel Racing, Poles, and Goat Tail Untying. Victoria is proud to say that she has learned so much competing in Rodeos and learns something new at every competition. She is a member of the school choir and is super proud to have maintained on the A/B Honor Roll. Victoria also enjoys playing guitar, painting, collecting Breyer items, sea shells, and snow globes from places she has visited. Her favorite song is “Space Cowboy” loves a good hot dog! Junior Princess-Cheyenne Johnson

Moundridge, Kansas brings us our next contestant. Cheyenne Johnson is the 12 year old daughter of Jay and Liz Johnson. Cheyenne competes in barrel racing, goat tying, and the royalty contest. This year makes her 3rd trip to Guthrie for the NLBRA Finals Rodeo. She is involved in the yearbook committee, enjoys baking desserts, and dog obedience training, where she is currently training her three Saint Bernards in an agility course she has set up in the front yard. Cheyenne is proud to have earned the title of 2018 Royal Review Rodeo Queen Jackpot Princess All-Around. her favorite accomplishment was playing in the $25,000 added money youth Championship at the All in Barrel Race at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas during the WNFR in December. Cheyenne enjoys going with her Dad to weekly Dummy Roping jackpots and spending time with friends at the local swimming pool. NLBRA Princess contestant — Cheyenne Johnson!


Texie Shyanne Larsen is the 18 year old daughter of Rachel and Matt Larsen from Hooper, Utah. She heard about NLBRA through a friend and immediately joined in 2018. She qualified for finals to compete in goat tying, barrel racing, and pole bending. While in high school she competed with the Spikers High School rodeo team and also volunteers along with her sister at local Nursing Homes. She and her Mom make blankets together to donate to Davis Hospital. She has a certification as an Emergency Medical Responder. She graduated high in 2019 and also qualified for state competition in all competing events with the Utah High School Rodeo Association. Her favorite foods are Chinese and Mexican and her favorite song is “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful” by Sammy Kershaw. Queen Contestant - Texie Shyanne Larsen

Queen- Jentri Haivala

Jentri Haivala is the 15 year old daughter of Clint and Rachel Murray from Newton, TX. She is a 5 time NLBFR qualifier, 2017 Champion Heeler with Louisiana LBRA, 2017 Champion Ribbon Runner Louisiana LBRA, 2017 Reserve Champion Heeler Cajun LBRA, 2017-2018 NLBRA Princess, 2017 NLBFR 1st round 6th place team roping, 2019 NLFBR Qualifier barrels, ribbon roping, Team roping, and trail course, and 2019 Top 7 Louisiana LBRA team roping, barrels, trail course, and ribbon roping. She is a cheerleader at her school, plays volleyball, runs track, and is an honor student. Her accomplishments include: 2009 CRRA Sweetheart, 2012 MPRA Princess, 2012 CRRA Princess, 2014 PRCA Princess, 2014 ARRA jr. queen, 2016 Miss TCWW Sweetheart, and 2017-2018 NLBRA Princess, Horsemanship winner, Rodeo Knowledge winner, Appearance winner, and Speech winner. She enjoys playing volleyball, Barrel Racing, and Roping. Her favorite foods include cheeseburgers, her favorite color is turquoise, and her favorite song is “Wild as You” by Cody Johnson. Queen- Kamrynn Patterson

Kamrynn Patterson is the 17 year old daughter of R.C and Joanna Patterson form Kim, Colorado. She has been a member and competing in LBRA for over 10 years. She won her first National buckle in 2018 for 3rd place in the first go of the trail course, and then competed in the short go. She has played varsity basketball and volleyball for 3 years and is the District 6 Vice President of the FFA and the State President for the Junior Colorado Cattlemen Association. She was also inducted into the National Honor Society this past year. at the 2-019 Royal Review Rodeo Queen Jackpot, she was the Teen Pro All Around Cowgirl. While there, she also won 2nd in Interviewing as well as 1st in most photogenic, test, impromptu speech, impromptu questions, modeling, and interview. While at the state FFA horse judging, she won silver and was back to back district extemporaneous speaking champion. She enjoys barrel races and competing at the all-in barrel race in Las Vegas, Nevada this past year. she enjoys reading and learning sign language. Her favorite foods include steak and shrimp, her favorite color is purple, and her favorite song is ‘Dear Rodeo” by Cody Johnson. Queen Contestant - Kamrynn Patterson
