Warren and Toni Rainwater established this scholarship fund in memory of their son, Winn Hal Rainwater, and daughter, Carla Suzanne Rainwater, who were both killed in separate accidents years ago. The Rainwater family chose the NLBRA because of their affection for and experiences within the organization. Like many generations, the Rainwater family treasures their Little Britches Rodeo experiences; and they wanted to establish a scholarship fund that would help other young adults, who competed in the NLBRA, as they began their education after high school.

The Rainwater Memorial Scholarship fund is designed to help the talented youth that participate in the NLBRA and it is one of the ways that Warren and Toni preserve the legacy of their children. The Rainwater Memorial Scholarship is an opportunity for any NLBRA member, regardless of rodeo success, to earn scholarship money. The scholarship is designed to provide funding for NLBRA members who plan to continue their education after high school.

The 2010 Rainwater Memorial Scholarship successful stock market run has provided additional funds and the family has decided to continue awarding four members scholarships valued at $500 each. As with tradition, and at the request of the Rainwater family, two scholarships will be awarded to young men and two scholarships to young women.  The eligibility criteria for applying for the 2010 Rainwater Memorial Scholarships are simple.

1) NLBRA member for three years minimum

2) GPA 3.0 or better (official transcript from your school)

3) NLBRA member in the senior division

If you meet the criteria outlined above, fill out the entry blank below, and have an official copy of your transcripts sent to the NLBRA National Office. The NLBRA National Office will confirm that you meet the criteria and then your name will be added to the drawing.
